Engaged Investing
For the Modern Age

Gatemore manages an engaged investment strategy across public and private markets. Whereas most fund managers focus solely on identifying value, our strategy is based on creating value through deep shareholder engagement across a wide range of opportunities — from corporate turnarounds to high growth and venture capital — and within sectors including industrials, media, consumer, healthcare, and clean technology. We believe that taking a more active approach enables us not only to outperform but also to understand and control risk in a fundamental way.

Installing a Winning Team

In 2017, Gatemore built a substantial stake in DX Group PLC and replaced the board of directors, installing a team which has led a remarkable turnaround and return to profitability and growth

Returning to Growth

In 2018, Gatemore acquired the US sports agency of TLA Worldwide PLC, renamed it GSE Worldwide, Inc., and has since led the return to organic and acquisition-led growth

Supporting a Founder-Led Turnaround

In 2019, Gatemore started to build a position in Superdry PLC, actively supporting the return of Julian Dunkerton to the role of CEO and his plans to revitalize the brand

Launching a Clean Technology Giant

In 2019, Gatemore led the financing to spin-out Factorial, Inc. which has emerged as one of the most prominent solid-state lithium-ion battery companies in the world today, and since then has played a key role in the development of the strategy and business

In 2021, Liad formed GVP Climate as a subsidiary in partnership with its Chairman and CIO, Brett Olsher, to invest in early-stage clean technology companies.  Liad now serves as a member of the investment committee of GVP Climate.

Liad has extensive experience as a board member of companies undergoing turnarounds, including: a publicly traded semiconductor wafer foundry based in California; a privately held global machine tool builder with dual headquarters in the US and Germany; and most recently with Gatemore portfolio company DX (Group) plc, an AIM-listed leading provider of delivery solutions, including parcel freight, secure, courier, and logistics in the UK.

Liad is currently a board member of two Gatemore portfolio companies: GSE Worldwide, Inc., a fully integrated talent management and sports agency where he is Chairman; and Factorial, Inc., developer of a breakthrough solid-state battery technology.
